THIS IS ME

My career has spanned over 25 years in Leadership & Organisation Development across multiple sectors working for several top-tier global brands. 

I am highly experienced with a reputation of leading teams in the design of award-winning solutions that have both created increased strategic capability and delivered £m business results.

My Career 

I left school with no qualifications and enlisted in The Royal Navy merely ten days post my 16th birthday, an experience akin to a baptism by fire. The journey was anything but easy. I had to grow up fast, and it was a daily challenge to survive. 

The surname Doughty signifies determination, bravery, and relentless pursuit of one's goals. Ultimately, I made it through and The Navy instilled in me the values of standards, leadership, resilience, trust and the criticality of teamwork, profoundly shaping and altering my life. 

I left the Navy to join Sainsbury's, which marked the beginning of my passion for Organisation Development (OD). My role encompassed everything from leadership and team building to change management and business problem-solving. I had found my purpose.

Subsequently through my career, I have worked for several world-class, fast paced, demanding, complex, tier one global brands, e.g. L&G, Hitachi, Motorola, Dell, Deutsche Bank, Tate & Lyle, and KPMG.

I have righted the past and I now hold an M.Ed and an M.A. 

I am a member of the British Psychological Society. I have been a keynote speaker at the famous Oxford Union; along with being a judge for President Clinton's Hult $1m Prize Award for Innovation.  

My persona is centred around being of service. From my experience, regardless of the brand or product, it is the people, relationships, and kindness that form the true foundation of organisation success.

From a personal family perspective, in 2017, I embarked on a five-year mid-career sabbatical to become a stay-at-home father, caring for my partner and our two young children, which included homeschooling during the pandemic.
